About Us
What We Do
Orphan Sponsorship: Feed The Poor provides a comprehensive programme of care for the orphan, the widow and the community of the orphan.
Orphan Related Projects: Money is pooled and used to support projects such as schools, hospitals, clinics and water projects, werein groups of orphans benefit, as well as the poor community.
Iftari Food for Poor Communities: A month’s provision is given to poor families at the start of Ramadan and communal meals are provided, at the end of the day of fasting to families and individuals.
Water Aid: Establishing clean water projects in communities where there is no or bad water supply. Wells and hand pumps supply drinking water and water for crops and market gardening.
Qurbani: Once a year during the Hajj [the Muslim pilgrimage to Makkah] meat is distributed to the poor, in the majority of these communities this is the only time they will eat meat in the whole year.
Self-Help: Feed The Poor implement self-help projects and agricultural development which are related to 'Food' and its production. It is needless to say that helping people to produce their own food is the best long term strategy.
Emergency relief: Feed The Poor is not a charity that responds to emergencies or disasters but in exceptional cases Feed The Poor has responded for example the Indonesian Tsunami 2004, the earth quake in Pakistan 2005, the floods in Pakistan 2010 & 2011 and the drought in east Africa Kenya and Somalia.
